Global manufacturing company Milliken & Company is teaming up with Makersite, a German-based artificial intelligence (AI) software company focused on product lifecycle intelligence.
Milliken is looking to leverage Makersite’s software to enhance the company’s product sustainability, costs, and compliance efforts.
Specifically, Milliken will be using Makersite’s AI-enabled product lifecycle analysis (LCA) to inform the company’s product design and sourcing. By integrating Makersite’s software, Milliken will be able to more effectively manage the sustainability of its products across the textile and chemical sectors.
One of the key drivers for the partnership is the increasing demand for more transparent and sustainable products. Milliken is looking to stay ahead of the growing expectations from consumers and regulators. By leveraging Makersite’s software, Milliken said it will be able to more accurately assess the sustainability of its products and make more informed decisions throughout the product development process.
In addition to its environmental impact, the company is also looking to manage the costs and compliance requirements associated with its products. Here is where Makersite’s software could provide a more comprehensive approach for Milliken.
Through the partnership, Milliken will integrate Makersite’s software across the company’s textile and chemical businesses. This will allow Milliken to conduct deeper analysis of the sustainability and costs associated with its products.
In addition to the environmental and social impact, the partnership will also look to drive long-term financial value.
Neil D’Souza, CEO and founder of Makersite, spoke about the company’s shared goals with Milliken.
“Milliken and Makersite have a shared vision for innovating sustainable product design and sourcing that supports business and sustainability goals,” said Neil D’Souza, CEO and founder of Makersite. “By consolidating Milliken’s internal product data with external supply chain databases that detail the cradle-to-grave carbon footprint of each component into Makersite’s unified platform, Milliken will be able to expedite decision-making processes for their product portfolio.”
